Training Hard for the Black and Blue …
Hard to believe that the Black and Blue Relay Race is less than a month away! Credit unions and Team Little Guy will be representing in the one day, 208 mile bike relay from Grayson Highlands SP in Virginia to Asheville, NC!
Eric “Eman” Gelly & Tom “Major” Heyden, our resident hardcore runners/bikers, will form a two-man team and both ride “centurys” in the race.
Meanwhile, Ed Agnoli, John “Badrad” Radebaugh, Rob Semar of Members Credit Union & yours truly will form another TLG entry. Ed & Rob are longtime bikers … while I’m just trying to get back into shape after a long layoff. Badrad just bought a bike recently and started training, but all his cardiac training from running should serve him well up in the mountains!
CUNA Mutual Group is also fielding a four-person team, so credit unions will have a big presence in the race!
While the bike ride is a one-day event, the team is also gearing up for the Blue Ridge Relay Race on September 5-6. More to come …
(Edit 6/26 to add: the CUNA Mutual Group Team includes Robin Kolvek and Tim Gardner from Georgia, Randy Coleman from South Carolina, and Scott Binder from Florida.)
