When Team Little Guy got started last year, there were two main objectives: to call attention (in a fun way) to the terrific work being done by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Micro Community Grants program, and to raise awareness of the good work that credit unions in both Carolinas are doing. Well, the fine folks at Piedmont Aviation Credit Union, who generously supported the team last year, are at it once again this summer – and they’re proving that the members of the team aren’t the only ones having a great time!

The credit union has held dress down days to raise money for TLG, and raised nearly $500 in the first day of the event (see a few photos PACU sent us in the TLG Flickr account)! The “mascot” of the dress down event, who looks a lot like ace marketer Jody Rushing, is featured prominently in the pics.

PACU is also contemplating even more fun, money making ideas down the line – including a car wash! (As anyone who has seen it knows, they could probably make hundreds of off Hardin’s car alone. Dude has an Altima that hasn’t seen so much as a single scrubbing bubble in at least a year!)

Other planned fundraisers include a raffle to help raise funds for the team while educating PACU members about the impact of the Micro Community Grants program. This part of PACU’s commitment is really wonderful – they plan to talk about the good work being done by the MCG program, encourage their members to think of charities they know about that might benefit, and give members the chance to buy a raffle ticket, with proceeds supporting MCG. The winner of the raffle will get a three-day vacation!

They’ve also got some other nice ideas and concepts they’re considering right up through the time of the race in September. PACU is doing some great things to help raise funds for TLG, for which we are most humbled and grateful. At the same time, they’re having a lot of fun along the way! Thank you PACU!
